The challenge
Magna is one of the largest global suppliers for the automotive industry
tolerances and delivering in record times. Their current CMM systems, although highly accurate, can’t inspect fast enough every single surface.
The challenge does not stop here. The production includes a wide range of part sizes and types: from small tubes to complete chassis, it is almost impossible to have all the fixtures for a CMM ready and on time to inspect everything.
Solution
3D Infotech was invited to participate in two very different areas in which Universal Metrology Automation was a perfect fit.
The first solution was a huge cell that should be able to inspect medium sized parts like segments of a chassis all the way to a complete chassis. All this at record times.
